Meet the Doctors
Dr. Tim Collins, D.C.
Having been raised by a family of ministers and computer software analysts, Dr. Collins had always thought he would follow in his family’s footsteps and assumed he’d be either a minister or computer software analyst, too. But, Dr. Collins ended up being a chiropractor. Utilizing the practice of caring and compassion that was such an influential part of his upbringing, he shows the passion and concern in helping his patients live healthy lives – getting to the root of their health issues to determine how he can resolve them most effectively.
Dr. Collins received his first degree, a bachelor of science in biology from Morehouse College. He received his second degree, his chiropractic degree, from Pasadena College of Chiropractic in 1984. He later went on to study functional medicine at the Functional Medicine Institute. Dr. Collins has been in private practice for over 32 years, formerly with Collins Chiropractic Group. In 2011, Dr. Collins joined Harbor Comprehensive Health, so that he could offer an integrated approach to his patients for the treatment of spinal and extremity related conditions. He loves working with his patients to help them reach their true health potential and considers himself very fortunate to be able to work with the medical staff in providing a unique approach for health resolution to South Bay and harbor area communities.
Dr. Collins places a special emphasis on the treatment of musculoskeletal orthopedics, neurological injuries and other chronic conditions, and is certified in disability evaluation as well as a qualified medical examiner for the state of California since 1992. His post-graduate education involves that of functional medicine, cervical and lumbar spine conditions and biomechanical links to lower back pain and lower extremity dysfunction. Dr. Collins is a member of the California Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic Association. He lectures extensively around the country on reversing diabetes through functional medicine as well as cost containment in healthcare through Chiropractic.
Dr. Collins is motivated daily by a quote from Thomas Edison: “The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”
Dr. John Simmonds, M.D.
Dr. Simmonds received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, graduating in the top of his class with honors. He later trained in orthopaedic surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and Martin Luther King Medical Center in Los Angeles where he received exceptional training, insight, and intellect into treating multiple common and complex orthopaedic and medical conditions.
Dr. Simmonds has been in private practice for 12+ years with emphasis on management of common and complex medical and orthopaedic conditions through non-surgical methods and has provided the highest quality of medical care to his community. This care includes patient education, chiropractic, functional medicine, physical medicine, physical therapy, and rehabilitative treatments.
Dr. Simmonds is the co-founder of PlasmaGenix INC, a premiere ortho-biological regenerative medicine company, focusing on tissue repair and remodeling through stems cells. Dr. Simmonds is also a co-owner of Spade Skin Care Medical, which offers state-of-the-art cosmetic therapeutics ranging from minimally invasive to advanced office-based surgical procedures. He also presently has 17 skilled nursing home contracts, with emphasis in management orthopaedics and wound care cases throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.
Bridget Jemison, P.A.
P.A. Jemison was born in Los Angeles to wonderful loving parents who encouraged her to continuously strive to be her best each day. She graduated from a magnet silver seal high school and received her bachelor of science degree in biology from Cal State Dominguez. She then went on to graduate from the post-baccalaureate program for physician assistant at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science.
P.A. Jemison knew at an early age that she wanted to be able to help others when she grew up. She was always drawn to science and space in school and dreamt of becoming an astronaut, intent on delivering healthcare in space to other astronauts – what seemed to be the perfect career. Her father worked in the aerospace industry, which presumably stimulated her desire to work as an astronaut for NASA.
Unfortunately, her childhood asthma derailed her dreams of becoming an astronaut – but she didn’t let that stop her from becoming a focused health professional. She reset her sights on providing healthcare to the community, which she admits has turned out to be more rewarding than she could have ever imagined. She enjoys every minute of every day, performing the services that she has been trained to do in a conscientious and caring manner. She has worked in urgent care, orthopedic/physical medicine and general practice for many years, and she reports that meeting new patients and seeing their lives change continues to motivate her every day.
P.A. Jemison’s hobbies include photography and being a die-hard Lakers fan.
Denise Guzzardo, P.A.

She continued her education, receiving her master’s degree in medical science from Nova Southeastern University in 2008. She holds several certifications, earning her NCCPA licensure and Florida Medical Board P.A. licensure in 2008, and her California Medical Board P.A. licensure in 2013.

Through a medically supervised program using a combination of medical knowledge, medications, and personal coaching she works with patients to set in motion a weight loss transformation journey that addresses the specific concerns of the individual, teaching the necessity of understanding patterns, pitfalls, and triggers that can sabotage efforts. She works with each patient to provide a customized weight loss solution that fits even the busiest lifestyles. She encourages her patients to never lose hope because she has a solution for each of them.
